What's Been Achieved?
1. Free Twyford Walking Map produced for all residents and visitors.
2. Free Walk Leaflets describing 3 different country routes produced for residents and visitors.
2. Historical display boards produced for Bell Corner and Weavers Way.
3. Lectern style board at Jubilee Corner describes how the current planting scheme is designed to encourage bees and butterflies. A regular TVP working party maintains the gardens.
5. Enhancing Bell Corner at village cross-roads.

7. Assisted Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust to run the Loddon Reserve as a Community Nature Reserve with the help of local volunteers. Friends of the Loddon Community Group formed to help BBOWT manage the Loddon Nature Reserve.
8. Established, together with the Parish Councils and Mullie Estate Agents, community orchards and new tree planting at King George’s Field and Stanlake Meadow.
9. Set up an Eco-Advice Forum.
10. Recycling information on TVP website and on poster in Library.
11. Encouraged Twyford Parish Council to re-instate an annual Litter Picking Day. TVP is now also running the ‘Adopt-a-Street’ scheme to tackle litter throughout the year.
12. Improved local websites including the Local History Society and Twyford Surgery . These websites now provide more local information, photos and functionality.
13. Helped in publicity drives for volunteers to staff front desk at Twyford Police Station and for the Volunteer Car Service.
14. Worked with local police on Anti-social behaviour.
15. Established a Business Forum for local traders and firms.
16. Organised free training sessions on retailing expertise for local traders.
17. Run seasonal shop window competitions.
18. Installed Christmas decorations in the village centre comprising small lit trees on shop facades and a large lit Christmas tree back on Bell Corner.
19. Encouraged more floral decoration for shop fronts.
20. Better publicity of bus information has led to more bus usage and increased frequency of the 850 bus to Reading and Henley.
21. A few more fast trains at peak times to and from London.
22. Parish Councillor now attends local Biodiversity meetings at Dinton Pastures.
23. The provision of a permanent library and cultural complex in Twyford village centre is now included in Wokingham Borough Council’s (WBC) Library Strategy.
24. Existing Neighbourhood Watch schemes have been confirmed.
25. Additional Neighbourhood Watch schemes have been encouraged.
26. Traffic lights at cross-roads phased to give priority to traffic from S along Waltham Rd and from W along High St.
27. A couple of faster trains from London to Twyford now run later after the evening peak.
What's Underway?
1. Finding a site for a new permanent library complex in village centre.
2. Negotiate further improvements in village open spaces, together with Parish Council and Wokingham Borough Council.
3. Investigating missing links in local footpath network.
4. Investigating more cycle routes from all directions into the village centre.
5. Providing more cycle parking at Twyford station.
6. Investigating hydro-electric power generation potential on the River Loddon.
7. Protecting non-listed buildings in Twyford that have important historical interest.
8. Writing a comprehensive history of Twyford.
9. Preparing 10 year management strategies for Parish-owned open spaces and then implementing suggested improvements. New trees provided in Stanlake Meadow and King George's Field (supplied by Mullie Estate Agents and dug in by local residents). Makeover for Jubilee Corner.
10. Relaunch of TVP website (May).
11. Working with others to reduce anti-social behaviour in village “hot-spots”.
12. Colleton School extension is underway to accommodate 25 extra pupils.
13. Investigating Hurst Rd/Waltham Rd junction.
14. Investigating need for yellow lines on East side of Waltham Rd alongside Stanlake Meadow.
15. Investigating signage for Twyford Surgery and Loddon Hall from village centre.
16. Dropped kerbs in Loddon Hall Rd opposite Surgery.
17. Investigating need for more bollards in village centre.
18. Police are checking illegal pavement parking in London Rd, Brook St and outside photographers on Waltham Rd on a regular basis.
